On May 29, 2008, Amy Sponenberg's second grade class from Glebe Street Elementary School came to Helping Paws Rescue for a field trip. At Christmas, the second grader's decided to donate money to the rescue instead of exchanging gifts. The children were given a tour of the cat rooms and got to meet Peanuts, the chinchilla and Baby Girl, the ferret. Gathering eggs from the hen house and feeding carrots to the horses were also learning experiences for the kids. At the end of the visit, each student was sent home with a face painted "paw" and a bag of treats. |
| A group of children from Broadalbin held a bake sale to benefit Helping Paws. Their efforts raised $100 for the animals!
